Argentinian player Mario Lopez is having the best year of his career after winning the Main Event of the PokerStars.net Latin American Poker Tour Uruguay for a $155,730 prize. Mario defeated his fellow countryman Hilario Quijada on a heads up that lasted for more than two hours.

This is Mario’s twelfth cash of the year but the most impressive thing is that is not even the largest. Mario won the Estrellas Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event for €408,000 and finished second at Event #61 One Little for ONE DROP at the WSOP 2015 for another $399,455. Lopez has cashed for $1,130,986 this year with one stop left this year.

Ruben Barros was the first elimination of the day after his A A lost the race against 9 9 from Quijada who hit a set on the flop.

Jorge Cantos was eliminated in the seventh place. He was the shortstack and announced his all-in with 10 3 called by Moustapha with an A 7. An A hit the flop and «Carozo» left the room.

Chilean champion Patricio Rojas left the tournament sixth after shoving his las 47.000 chips called by Lopez with A 4. The board didn’t help «Pato» who left with a $36,280 prize.

Ariel Eghi was eliminated fifth when his A J was defeated by Quijada’s pocket Q Q. Ariel returned home with a $47,930 prize.

Next elimination came when Chadi Moustapha shoved his last 595.000 called by Hilario. Chadi’s 6 6 chrashed to Hilario’s J J and he left fourth with a $61.140 prize.

Same history happened with German Christiansen who shoved his last chips with a pair of 7 7 but crashed against Hilario’s K K. The Argentinian player left with a $75,760 prize.

But in a twist of fate Hilario Quijada was eliminated after shoving his stack with 6 6. Mario called with J J for a dramatic end. Flop showed a 6 but the river gave Lopez a J and a new Latin American title after his last year’s win at Chile.

River showed a K and Mario bet 420.000 called by Hilario with a Q J. Mario showed him an A 3 and took the pot.

Mario Lopez called from the SB and Hilario Quijada raised to 320.000 called by Lopez. Hilario bet 175.000 on a 9 3 7 flop and Mario called. Both players checked the J turn and the 5 river. Lopez showed an A 8 and took the pot and the lead.

Hilario Quijada called from the button and Mario Lopez checked. Lopez check-called a 100.00 bet from Quijada on a 4 A 7 flop. Both player checked a K turn and a 5 turn. Mario showed a 5 8 and took the pot.

Hilario Quijada called from the button and Mario Lopez checked from the BB. Flop showed a 10 9 2 and Medmar bet 80.000 called by Hilario. Both players checked a 3 turn.

Mario bet 350.000 on a 4 turn and Hilario call-mucked his hand after Mario showed an A 7.

Mario bet 85.000 on a 10 turn and Hilario called. River showed a 9 and Mario check-called a 135.000 bet from Quijada who won the pot after showing his K 10.

Mario Lopez called from the SB and Hilario Quijada raised to 295.000 called by Mario. Both players checked a J 10 6 8 board.

River showed a 10 and Mario check-mucked his cards after Hilario showed a 8 8.

Mario Lopez called from the BB and Hilario Quijada checked. Mario check-raised to 210.000 a 60.000 bet from Hilario on a 10 K 2 flop. Both players checked an A turn.

A 6 showed and Mario bet 500.000 and took the pot after Hilario’s fold.

Hilario Quijada called from the SB and Mario Lopez checked. Both players checked a 4 J 7 flop. Mario bet 65.000 on a 10 turn and Quijada called.

River showed a K and Mario checked. Hilario bet and Mario folded. While collecting the pot Hilario showed Mario a 8 9.

Mario Lopez completed from the BB and Hilario Quijada checked. Both players checked down a 2 K 6 J 7 board and Mario took the pot with his A 3.

Hilario Quijada raised to 120.000 and Mario Lopez three-bet to 265.000 called by Hilario.

Both players checked a 2 8 4 flop and Hilario check-folded a 90.000 bet from Mario on a A turn.

Mario Lopez raised to 105.000 and Hilario Quijada called from the BB. Hilario check-called a 100.000 bet from Mario on a 4 5 7 flop.

The turn showed a 3 and Mario bet 150.000 enought to take down the pot.

Mario Lopez completed from the SB and German Christiansen raised to 250.000. Mario then announced his all-in and Christiansen folded.
