After following their trail for a while, the band known as Hispanidad, a group of five people that conned casinos, was caught in Panamá on Saturday. This time, the criminals tried to pull off a scheme at the Veneto Casino in Bella Vista, but the National Police force managed to dismantle them.

The band, which had three Colombian members and two Peruvian ones, two of them female, entered the casino on Saturday at 4 in the afternoon, but was actually apprehended on Sunday around midnight, when members of the police department, dressed in civilian clothes, intercepted them when they were about to leave the facilities, after having taken at least  14,500 dollars.

In remakrs to the local tv channel, TVN, Eric Rios, Executive Secretary of the Panama Gaming Control Board, explained the delinquents M.O.: «The way they operate is by trying to «fatten up the machine«. They work many hours, exchanging tickets at the cashier and putting money into the machine, so, when it’s full, they force the machine and steal the money. But they work several machines, they don’t just fill up one, and that’s work that takes many hours to pull off.»

According to the hotel managers where the casino is located, two rooms had already been the target of similar events. It is believed that the band only entered Panama to steal and then they would abandon the country. They are now in hands of the justice department.
