Rafa, is all…! Oops, where’s Nadal!? That was our exact reaction when we wondered into the Team SportStars section at the PokerStars webpage. O.K., let’s do the rollcall: Cristiano Ronaldo , here; Neymar Jr , here; Ronaldo , here as well; Fatima Moreira , gorgeous as ever; Marcus Hellner , here to serve. And what about the Spanish tennis player?
On June 21st, 2012, after rumors surfaced all over, it was confirmed that the current number 8 at the ATP ranking, was signing with PokerStars and joining the ranks as a Team SportStars: “It is no secret that I love to compete and try to do it the best way I can, whether it be tennis, golf or videogames. When I discovered poker, I decided to join PokerStars because they understand what t takes to be the best and I associate them with the qualities that champions usually exhibit. I’m really glad to be working with them”, those were Rafa’s words back then. But now, it seems the romance is over…
Nadal left us with some great moments from when he wore the patch for the red spade room. For example, his very entertaining commertials or his widely talked about showdown with Ronaldo.. He even took on “the World” at PokerStars, together with great charity campaigns. A big part of his work with PS was registered as part of the documentary called “Game of Champions”.
How could we ever forget his TV commertials?
As we can see, Nadal has given the world some great ad campaigns; although, with his face gone from the PokerStars web page, there’s talk it might all be part of a happy past, now gone. Is this the final goodbye between PS and Rafa?
