Where did the eccentric Dan Bilzerian  come from? Did he amass his fortune playing poker? These are just some of the questions many are asking after meeting “The King of Instagram”

There is something far more shady hiding behind his facade of luxury, weapons and women.“Vice”, an American webpage, broke the headline after conducting an investigation to find the answer to the aforementioned questions and stumbled on to some pretty controversial answers.

According to «VICE», Dan had a big fortune before he started playing poker thanks to his father’s «dirty» money, obtained through tax fraud. The news broke after careful study of public records, where Bilzerian has been named as a part of a network of companies built to protect his father’s (Pablo Bilzerian) estate from the government.

The documents, released by the American news outlet, show the player benefitted from trust funds set up by his father in the 90’s at a time when he owed millions of dollars to the American government.

Pablo spent time in prison and declared bankruptcy, without, as stated by the investigation, putting his fortune under his wife’s and children’s name, so the FBI couldn’t touch it.

This is the way Dan has managed to afford a lifetime of luxury and opened doors to big poker games, that only a few get the chance to play. Whether he has done alright for himself or not at the tables, is a matter for a different issue, although, judging by some of his comments to the media where he claims to have won 50 million dollars playing cards, one might think he actually did a good job at managing his money in the High Stakes tables.
