The first day of the Monster World Poker Tour Tournament of Champions was full of exclusiveness, big names, a lot of money and some of the most incredible hands you will ever see.
One of them took place at Level 2 -with blinds 100/200 ante 25- where Ryan Sandford raised to 600 from the BU and Tyler Patterson re-raised to 2.000 from the SB. The player on the BU completed after the BB folded.
The flop was 8 6 4 and Patterson bet 2,500, called by Ryan. The J showed up on the turn and Patterson checked. Sanford bet 7,000 but faced a raised to 22,000 from the villain. The action came back to him and announced his all-in for 22,000 chips. Patterson called.
Patterson: J J
Van Sanford: 4 4
River: 10
Sandford, who won the 2014 $5,000 NLH Main Event Bounty Scramble was knocked out of the tournament while Patterson increased his stack to 83,000 chips.
Another big hand was played on Level 7 -with blinds 400/800 ante 100-. The board was 2 4 5 J and Eugene Katchalov announced his all-in for 25,000 chips. Again, Patterson called.
Eugene: A 3
Patterson: 4 4
Eugene was the clear favorite until a 5 showed-up on the river. Katchalov was eliminated and Patterson increased his stack to 210,000 chips.
