Argentinian player Mario Lopez Flag of Argentina is having the best year of his career after winning the Main Event of the PokerStars.net Latin American Poker Tour Uruguay for a $155,730 prize. Mario defeated his fellow countryman Hilario Quijada Flag of Argentina on a heads up that lasted for more than two hours.

This is Mario’s twelfth cash of the year but the most impressive thing is that is not even the largest. Mario won the Estrellas Poker Tour Barcelona Main Event for €408,000 and finished second at Event #61 One Little for ONE DROP at the WSOP 2015 for another $399,455. Lopez has cashed for $1,130,986 this year with one stop left this year.

Ruben Barros Flag of Argentina was the first elimination of the day after his A A lost the race against 9 9 from Quijada who hit a set on the flop.

Jorge Cantos Flag of Argentina was eliminated in the seventh place. He was the shortstack and announced his all-in with 10 3 called by Moustapha with an A 7. An A hit the flop and «Carozo» left the room.

Chilean champion Patricio Rojas Flag of Chile left the tournament sixth after shoving his las 47.000 chips called by Lopez with A 4. The board didn’t help «Pato» who left with a $36,280 prize.

Ariel Eghi Flag of Argentina was eliminated fifth when his A J was defeated by Quijada’s pocket Q Q. Ariel returned home with a $47,930 prize.

Next elimination came when Chadi Moustapha Flag of Líbano shoved his last 595.000 called by Hilario. Chadi’s 6 6 chrashed to Hilario’s J J and he left fourth with a $61.140 prize.

Same history happened with German Christiansen Flag of Argentina who shoved his last chips with a pair of 7 7 but crashed against Hilario’s K K. The Argentinian player left with a $75,760 prize.

But in a twist of fate Hilario Quijada Flag of Argentina was eliminated after shoving his stack with 6 6. Mario called with J J for a dramatic end. Flop showed a 6 but the river gave Lopez a J and a new Latin American title after his last year’s win at Chile.
