Qui Nguyen needed more than 18 hours to defeat the November 9 and become the World Series of Poker Champion. Nguyen arrived to the final table second in chip but nobody thought that he -a Vietnamese player that presents himself as a «Professional Baccarat player»- would become a millionaire and a world champion.

The road to the championship wasn’t easy. He defeated Cliff Josephy Flag of Estados Unidos who is know for backing players at different tournaments and Gordon Vayo Flag of Estados Unidos who lost the heads-up altough he is a well known pro. Nguyen, who is 39, won an epic heads-up match that laster 181 hands.

The final hand came when Nguyen raised to 8.5 million with K 10 and Vayo shoved with J 10 for his last 53 million chips. Nguyen called and the flop showed a K 9 7 for an open ended straight but it all ended with a 2 turn and a 3 river.
