Sixteen players started Day 3 looking for a place at the final table. Francis Cruz (16° – $6.790) was the first player eliminated followed by his fellow countrymen Jose Tavarez, Hector Zayas, Tirse Genao and Malvin Matos who couldn’t win any flip.
After two poorly played hands, Gaston Catzman announced his all-in for his last chips with 9 8 to get called by a pair of 8 8. The board didn’t change the history and he left the table with a $7.760 prize. A few hands later, Nestor Diaz was eliminated in tenth place decreed the unofficial final table.
Cichy Hunter started the non-official final table really short. Nonetheless, he keept playing his aggresive game. Ralph Leitner raised to 45.000 and Hunter re-raised to 120.000. Leitner announced his all-in and Hunter called with his pocket queens. The board didn’t help Ralph’s pocket jacks and Hunter started the final table as the chip leader.
Full10 Poker TeamPro Leo Fernandez Galle was the short stack at the table and became the latest elimination when he announced his all-in with A 2. Hunter called with A J and defeated Galle who left the table in eight place. Colombia’s Jonathan Arturo finished in seventh place after shoving his stack with a pair of sixes. Juan de Jesus called with an A J and won the pot after hitting two pairs.
Jose Medina (6° – $16.490) left the tournament in sixth place followed by Fernando Gutierrez (5° – $21.340). With only four players left things were balanced until Cichy Hunter took the lead when his pair of 7 7 won the race against Juan De Jesus’ (4° – $27.160) A K.
Hunter opened with Q 8 called by Julian De Valdez who was really short after a cooler where he had set of fours against Chilean player Jaime Farriol’s set of aces. Venezuelan player called with 10 7 and tried to steal the pot by check-raising on a K 8 8 flop. Hunter called and elimnates Julian in third place (3° – $44.620).
Hunter started the heads-up with a 4 to 1 advantage but Farriol battle until the last hand. Jaime announced his all-in for 825.000 chips with A 6 and Cichy called with A 9. The board showed Q 2 10 J 5 and Cichy became the first-ever champion at the Peter’s Poker Tour.
